Influences of pulsed current tungsten inert gas welding parameters on the tensile properties of AA 6061 aluminium alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of pulsed current TIG welding parameters on tensile properties of AA 6061 aluminium alloy weldments was investigated. And the results showed that pulsed currents can improve the mechanical properties of the welds compared to those of continuous current welds.

Effect of Tool Pin Profile and Tool Rotational Speed on Mechanical Properties of Friction Stir Welded AA6061 Aluminium Alloy

TL;DR: In this article, an attempt has been made to study the effect of rotational speed and tool pin profile on mechanical properties of AA6061 aluminium alloy, and five different tool pin profiles (straight cylindrical, tapered cylinrical, threaded cylinsectrical, triangular, and square) have been used to fabricate the Al-Mg-Si alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pulsed current welding on mechanical properties of high strength aluminum alloy

TL;DR: In this article, an attempt has been made to refine the fusion zone grains by applying a pulsed current welding technique, which leads to relatively finer and more equi-axed grain structure in GTA and GMA welds.

Effect of post-weld aging treatment on mechanical properties of Tungsten Inert Gas welded low thickness 7075 aluminium alloy joints

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of post-weld aging treatment on the microstructure, tensile strength, hardness and Charpy impact energy of weld joints low thickness T6 aluminium alloy welded by TIG was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Castability and mechanical properties of new 7xxx aluminum alloys for automotive chassis/body applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of a vulnerable temperature interval and grain refinement on the hot tearing susceptibility (HTS) were investigated in order to prevent hot tearing, and the results showed that adding 3% Si led to a decrease in the HTS, which eventually reached zero.
