Enhanced interfacial interactions of carbon fiber reinforced PEEK composites by regulating PEI and graphene oxide complex sizing at the interface

TL;DR: In this paper, the interfacial interaction and bonding of carbon fiber reinforced poly(ether-ether-ketone) (PEEK) composites is improved by applying polyether imide (PEI) and graphene oxide (GO) complex sizing at different ratios at the interface.

Graphene oxide-deposited carbon fiber/cement composites for electromagnetic interference shielding application

TL;DR: Graphene oxide-deposited carbon fiber (GO-CF) was obtained by introducing GO onto CF surface through electrophoretic deposition method as mentioned in this paper, which was found to be more effective than CF in providing electromagnetic interference shielding of cement-based composites.

Mechanical and physical properties of epoxy composites reinforced by vapor grown carbon nanofibers

TL;DR: In this paper, the electrical and mechanical properties of the epoxy-VGCF nanocomposite sheets with different weight percentages of VGCFs were discussed, and the results were that both had maximum tensile strength and Young's modulus at 5.5% for both materials and reduced the fracture strain with increasing filler content.

The effect of coupling agent on electrical and mechanical properties of carbon fiber/phenolic resin composites

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of carbon fiber treatment on the electrical and mechanical properties of the composites was investigated, and three specimens were prepared: the short carbon fiber treated to remove size (called USCF), the carbon fiber oxidized with nitric acid (called NAOCF), and the fiber oxidised with Nitric acid and treated with coupling agent glutaric dialdehyde (called GTDACF), which had higher electrical conductivity and better mechanical property than other composites with the same content of carbon fibers.

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic studies of carbon fibre surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, carbon fibres were anodically surface treated by passing them continuously through an electrochemical bath, thus simulating a possible industrial surface treatment process, and composites were made from these fibres with an epoxy resin and their interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) tested.
