TLDR
This work considers a rule-based fuzzy controller and a learning procedure based on the stochastic approximation method and shows that a modified form of this network is identical with the fuzzy controller, which may thus be considered as a neuro-fuzzy controller.

Mobile Robot Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance Techniques: A Review

TL;DR: The present article focuses on the study of the intelligent navigation techniques, which are capable of navigating a mobile robot autonomously in static as well as dynamic environments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reinforcement Ant Optimized Fuzzy Controller for Mobile-Robot Wall-Following Control

TL;DR: This paper proposes a reinforcement ant optimized fuzzy controller (FC) design method, called RAOFC, and applies it to wheeled-mobile-robot wall-following control under reinforcement learning environments, and proposes an online aligned interval type-2 fuzzy clustering method to generate rules automatically.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neurofuzzy-Based Approach to Mobile Robot Navigation in Unknown Environments

TL;DR: A neurofuzzy-based approach is proposed, which coordinates the sensor information and robot motion together and can adequately sense the environment around, autonomously avoid static and moving obstacles, and generate reasonable trajectories toward the target in various situations without suffering from the "dead cycle" problems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Obstacle Avoidance Method for Wheeled Mobile Robots Using Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Neural Network

TL;DR: Since the IT2FNN uses the fuzzy set instead of the crisp set as the membership values and it is robust against uncertainties, the performance of the robot behavior can be significantly improved especially in the presence of obstacles.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comprehensive study for robot navigation techniques

TL;DR: An effort has been made to study several navigation techniques, which are well suited for the static and dynamic environment and can be implemented for real-time navigation of mobile robot.

A robust layered control system for a mobile robot

TL;DR: A new architecture for controlling mobile robots is described, building a robust and flexible robot control system that has been used to control a mobile robot wandering around unconstrained laboratory areas and computer machine rooms.

A robust layered control system for a mobile robot

TL;DR: In this paper, a new architecture for controlling mobile robots is described, which is made up of asynchronous modules that communicate over low-bandwidth channels, each module is an instance of a fairly simple computational machine.
