Nitrate-induced photooxidation of trace organic chemicals in water.
TLDR
The oxidation kinetics of butyl chloride, nitrobenzene, anisole, and methylmercury in the presence of hydroxyl radical (OH) scavengers were used to determine the rate and quantum efficiency for production of OH from irradiated nitrate ions in water.Abstract:
The oxidation kinetics of butyl chloride, nitrobenzene, anisole, and methylmercury in the presence of hydroxyl radical (OH) scavengers were used to determine the rate and quantum efficiency for production of OH from irradiated nitrate ions in water. The experiments were conducted under steady-state irradiations with monochromatic radiation (313 nm) and with sunlight. The mean quantum efficiency for OH production at 313 nm rises from 0.013 +/- 0.002 at 20 /sup 0/C to 0.017 +/- 0.003 at 30 /sup 0/C in the pH range 6.2-8.2. Results of this study are used to estimate nitrate-induced photooxidation rates of trace organic chemicals under a variety of environmental conditions. 27 references, 6 figures, 2 tables.read more

Kinetic and analytical study of the photo-induced degradation of monuron by nitrates and nitrites under irradiation or in the dark.
TL;DR: The photo-induced transformation of monuron (3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,1 dimethylurea) was investigated in an aqueous solution containing nitrates and nitrites and followed pseudo-first order kinetics in both NO(3)(-) and NO(2)(-) conditions.

Identification of hydroxyl radical oxidation products of N-hexanoyl-homoserine lactone by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry.
TL;DR: A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography/electrospray tandem mass spectrometry method was developed for the characterization of hydroxyl radical oxidation products of N-hexanoyl-homoserine lactone, a member of the N-acylhomoserINE lactone class of microbial quorum-sensing signaling molecules identified in many Gram-negative strains of bacteria.

Studies on photodegradation of levomepromazine and olanzapine under simulated environmental conditions.
TL;DR: It turned out that levomepromazine easily underwent photooxidation under simulated environmental conditions, resulting in the generation of its sulphoxide, while Olanzapine appeared to be more resistant to sunlight, as its photodecomposition proceeded slowly, and only one product of its decomposition was detected spectrophotometrically during the process.
