TLDR
The observed large E1 width of the isobaric analog state in 209Bi is found to be inconsistent with the β-decay of 210Bi as discussed by the authors, which is the first observation that the E 1 width is larger than the E 2 width.

Charge-exchange collective modes and beta decay processes in the lead region

TL;DR: In this paper, the first forbidden charge exchange collective modes, as well as corresponding β-decay and γ-radiation processes, have been calculated, using a large configuration space and a density-dependent interaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quasiparticle-phonon interaction and the ß-decay to the one phonon collective states

TL;DR: In this paper, the quasipartiple-phonon interaction Hamiltonian was used to calculate the s-decay process to the first excited states of the doubly even spherical nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI

The β-moments for the second-forbidden β-decay from137Cs, the CVC theory, and the residual interactions

TL;DR: In this article, the β-moments of the 7/2+(1.176 MeVβ−)3/2+ transition in the decay of137Cs have been extracted from the available experimental data.
Journal ArticleDOI

The 1-(1.9 MeV β-)2+ transition in the decay of148Pm

TL;DR: In this paper, the first-forbidden 1−(1.9 MeVβ−)2+ transition in the decay of the odd-odd148Pm was studied and the validity of the ξ-approximation was discussed.

Conserved Current Hypothesis and the Beta Decay of RaE

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the conserved current theory is consistent with Bi/sup 210/ beta decay by comparing theoretical predictions with experimental data obtained from electron polarization and spectrum measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy levels of Bi210 and Po210 and the shell-model residual force

TL;DR: In this paper, the low-lying energy level spectra of Bi/sup 210/ and Po/sup 208/ were calculated by using the j-j coupling shell model and a residual nucleon-nucleon Gaussian potential without a hard core deduced from the free two-Nucleon potentials of BlattJackson and Brueckner-Gammel-Thaler.
Journal ArticleDOI

Beta decay theory using exact electron radial wave functions

TL;DR: In this article, a modified formulation of the theory of beta decay is presented in which exact electron radial wave functions for an extended nuclear charge distribution are used for accurate application as well as for a qualitative demonstration of the features of the beta decay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of conserved vector current theory in first forbidden β-decay

TL;DR: In this paper, the first forbidden β-decay matrix elements (α and ǫ) are shown to have been connected by a formula connecting the first two elements, and the use of critical use of the formula is shown to be unjustified.
Journal ArticleDOI

Das β-spektrum des RaE

TL;DR: In this article, the phase angle θ between vector and axial vector coupling constants was found to be | θ − 180°| = (4.5±1.0)° with the assumption of a STPVA interaction without Fierz interference.
