Abstract
It is shown that all meson-baryon and meson-meson $\ensuremath{\sigma}$ terms which can be extracted from experiment can be reconciled with the (3, \ifmmode\bar\else\textasciimacron\fi{}3) chiral-symmetry-breaking scheme, ${H}^{\ensuremath{'}}={u}_{0}+{\mathrm{cu}}_{8}$, provided that $c$ assumes the value $c\ensuremath{\sim}\ensuremath{-}1.0$.

Recent developments in chiral perturbation theory

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of recent developments in chiral perturbation theory (CHPT), which is the effective field theory of the standard model below the chiral symmetry breaking scale, is considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current algebra, PCAC and the quark model

TL;DR: The theory and phenomenology of PACAC at the hadron level are reviewed in detail in this paper, and the origins of the Delta I=1/2 rule for non-leptonic hyperon and kaon decays are respectively discussed in the constituent and current-quark bases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proof of the Nambu-Goldstone realisation for vector-gluon-quark theories

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that in chiral-invariant vector-gluon theories, the spontaneous generation of fermion mass is associated with zero-mass pseudoscalar bosons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Is the quark mass ratio ms/m̂ as large as 25?

TL;DR: In this paper, the Dashen-Weinstein sum rule for deviations from the Goldberger-Treiman relation allows a measurement of m s / m, implying a considerably lower value of the condensate 〈qq〉 than usually belived.
Journal ArticleDOI

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE 12C+24Mg SYSTEM WITH DEEP AND SHALLOW POTENTIALS

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of the shallow and deep optical potentials, the elastic scattering angular distributions and excitation functions data of the 12C+24Mg reaction have been analyzed within the framework of the optical model over a wide energy range.
