Policy and operational constraints for the implementation of cleaner production in Zambia

In this paper, the authors report the findings of a study conducted to identify the appropriate policy strategies for cleaner production in Zambia, through direct consultation with industry and other stakeholders, it was observed that the major constraints that hindered the implementation of cleaner production were financial problems, poor/weak enforcement of environmental laws, lack of knowledge and lack of awareness.
