TLDR
In this article , the authors present and discuss alternative scenarios for the nature of the underlying crust below the sedimentary sequences in the Cayos Basin, and characterize the basin through the interpretation of magnetic and gravity anomaly grids, and 2D forward modeling, constructed based on three sections, by considering restriction seismic data from previous works.

A Methodological Proposal for the Management of Submerged Cultural Heritage: Study Cases from Cartagena de Indias, Colombia

TL;DR: In this paper , a comprehensive methodology for the management of submerged cultural heritage sites despite their worldwide location is proposed, which is applied to four colonial shipwrecks located in Cartagena de Indias Bay (Colombia), two of them in the Inner Bay and two in the Bocachica sector.

Approximating edges of source bodies from magnetic or gravity anomalies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method to estimate the location of abrupt lateral changes in magnetization or mass density of upper crustal rocks using gridded magnetic or gravity anomaly data.

Tectonic Evolution of the Caribbean

TL;DR: The development of the Caribbean is discussed in terms of modern tectonic theory as mentioned in this paper, and the nature of the site on which the Caribbean formed is examined, and the development of rifted margins of the region is described.

Kinematic reconstruction of the Caribbean region since the Early Jurassic

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an updated, quantitatively described kinematic reconstruction of the Caribbean region back to 200 million years, integrated into the global plate circuit, and implemented with GPlates free software.

Geophysical measurements in the western Caribbean Sea and in the Gulf of Mexico

TL;DR: The data from 48 seismic refraction profiles in the western Caribbean Sea and in the Gulf of Mexico are presented in the form of structure sections crossing the Colombian basin, Nicaraguan rise, Cayman trough, Caymann ridge, Caymans ridge, Beata ridge, Yucatan basin, Campeche bank, and Sigsbee deep as discussed by the authors.

Buoyant ocean floor and the evolution of the Caribbean

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a pattern of faults with an intriguing, though unexplained, resemblance to the slip lines in a modified Prandtl cell in the young Caribbean ocean floor.
