Carbon-13 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy of Monosaccharides

TL;DR: An overview of the 13 Carbon-Nuclear magnetic resonance (13 C-NMR) spectroscopy of monosaccharides can be found in this paper, where an almost complete collection of 13 C- NMR chemical shifts of polysaccharides, their methyl glycosides, and acetates is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isosorbide. Preparation, Properties and Chemistry

TL;DR: Isosorbide is obtained by dehydration of sorbitol and therefore can be considered as a valuable product from biomass as discussed by the authors, which gives rise to different anhydro-compounds, but also to polymer-like products.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incorporation of Isosorbide into Poly(butylene terephthalate) via Solid-State Polymerization

TL;DR: The SSP method resulted in much higher molecular weights and much less colored polymers, and it seems to be the preferred route for incorporating biobased monomers that exhibit limited thermal stability into engineering plastics.

1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitols.

TL;DR: In this paper, an overview of 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol compounds is provided, including bridged systems, fused systems, and analytical detection concepts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyol conversions into furanic derivatives on bimetallic catalysts: CuRu, CuPt and RuCu

TL;DR: The authors showed that unsaturated intermediates resulting from dehydrogenation are irreversibly adsorbed on the surface of copper-based catalysts modified or not by Ru or Pt. This phenomenon can be explained through the induced reduction of hydroxylated copper in the presence, at the catalyst surface, of H2Ru or H2Pt electrodes that fix their potential on the total catalyst.

Observations on esterification reactions

TL;DR: The rate constants for the esterification of a series of alcohols with acetic anhydride at 25° have been determined in this article, where no rateenhancement effect attributable to hydrogen-bonding was observed, in contrast to esterifications with acid chlorides and sulphonyl chlorides in pyridine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conformations of some dianhydrohexitols

TL;DR: Proton magnetic resonance spectra of three known diastereoisomers 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-glucitol, 1, 4: 3,6dian hydro-L-iditol, and their diacetyl and dimesyl derivatives were analyzed in this paper.
