TLDR
The results indicate that the Euglena peroxidase belongs to a new type of peroxIDase to be designated as l -ascorbic acid per oxidase, and the inhibition of the enzyme by cyanide and azide as well as absorption spectra of the enzymes alone and in complex with hydrogen peroxide showed that it is a hemoprotein.

Hydrogen Peroxide is Scavenged by Ascorbate-specific Peroxidase in Spinach Chloroplasts

TL;DR: Observations confirm that the electron donor for the scavenging of hydrogen peroxide in chloroplasts is L-ascorbate and that the L-ASCorbate is regenerated from DHA by the system: photosystem I-*ferredoxin-*NADP^>glutathione and a preliminary characterization of the chloroplast peroxidase is given.

Ascorbate peroxidase – a hydrogen peroxide-scavenging enzyme in plants

TL;DR: Amino acid sequence and other molecular properties indicate that ascorbate peroxidase resembles cytochrome c peroxIDase from fungi rather than guaiacol per oxidase from plants, and it is proposed that the plant and yeast hydrogen peroxide-scavenging peroxidsases have the same ancestor.

Regulation and function of ascorbate peroxidase isoenzymes

TL;DR: It is clear that a high level of endogenous ascorbate is essential effectively to maintain the antioxidant system that protects plants from oxidative damage due to biotic and abiotic stresses.

Glutathione metabolism and possible biological roles in higher plants

TL;DR: Synthesis of glutathione in plants seems to proceed in the same series of enzyme catalysed reactions observed in animal cells; the pathway ofglutathione may be the same as that of animal cells.

Chloroplasts: formation of active oxygen and its scavenging

Kozi Asada
TL;DR: Production of O2- and H2O2 and their scavenging system are discussed in this chapter and are believed to be indispensable for the prevention of overreduction of electron carriers in the cyclic electron transport pathway.

TL;DR: The results are similar to those of previous studies, where the objective was to establish a cause-and-effect relationship, rather than a straightforward relationship between the number of cells and the content of the molecule.

The kinetics of enzyme-catalyzed reactions with two or more substrates or products. I. Nomenclature and rate equations

TL;DR: A nomenclature to facilitate discussion of possible mechanisms for enzyme-catalyzed reactions with more than one substrate or product is proposed and examples are given to illustrate the types of information about reaction mechanisms that can be obtained.
