TLDR
The heat-shock response is a conserved reaction of cells and organisms to elevated temperatures (heat shock or heat stress).
Abstract
The heat-shock response is a conserved reaction of cells and organisms to elevated temperatures (heat shock or heat stress). Whereas severe heat stress leads to cellular damage and cell death, sublethal doses of heat stress induce a cellular response, the heat-shock response, which (a) protects

Heat Shock Proteins: Catalytic Chaperones Involved in Modulating Thermotolerance in Plants

TL;DR: In this article , the authors grouped heat shock proteins in plants into five classes according to their approximate molecular weight: (1) Hsp100, (2) HSP90, (3, Hsp70, (4, HSP60), and (5) small heat shock protein (sHsps).

The Hsp70 Expression Profiling in Fayoumi and Matrouh Chicken Subjected to Heat Stress

TL;DR: Results showed that the acquired thermotolerance is positively linked to the stress memory, and therefore the heat stress is better tolerated, which indicates that Fayoumi mortality rate might be lower genetically under heat stress.

Comparative analysis of wild type accessions reveals novel determinants of Arabidopsis seed longevity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors exploited the contrasting seed longevity found amongst wild type Arabidopsis thaliana accessions to further understand this phenomenon, and found that concentration of the antioxidant glutathione was consistently higher in longer-lived than shorter-lived accessions, supporting that redox poise plays a prominent role in seed longevity.

Les shsps en surera: estudis de funcionalitat

TL;DR: Cristalli et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the role of the N-terminal of the Small Heat Shock Protein sHSP 17.4 (QsHsp17.4-CI) in the protection of the cellules.

Isolation of grapevine promoters with special emphasis on the vacuolar pyrophosphatase

TL;DR: In this article, a high-throughput gene expression system, cDNA-AFLPs, was successfully used to analyse large-scale transcriptional activity during berry ripening.

ATP-dependent nucleosome disruption at a heat-shock promoter mediated by binding of GAGA transcription factor

TL;DR: The chromatin structure of the hsp70 promoter is reconstructed using an in vitro nucleosome assembly system, suggesting that an energy-dependent pathway is involved in chromatin remodelling.

Molecular chaperones and protein folding in plants.

TL;DR: This review summarizes the current understanding of how molecular chaperones function in plants, with a major focus on those systems where the most detailed mechanistic data are available, or where features of the chaperone/foldase system or substrate proteins are unique to plants.

Regulation of heat shock factor trimer formation: role of a conserved leucine zipper

TL;DR: The results suggest that the carboxyl-terminal zipper may suppress formation of trimers by the amino- terminal HSF zipper elements by means of intramolecular coiled-coil interactions that are sensitive to heat shock.
