Ecological responses of aquatic macrophytes and benthic macroinvertebrates to dams in the Henares River Basin (Central Spain)
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of nutrient enrichment caused by deep releases on macrophyte and macroinvertebrate communities were studied, and the results indicated that macrophytes were more favored downstream from dams as a probable consequence of the positive effect of nutrients on periphyton and perilithon abundance.
