A review of project-based learning in higher education : Student outcomes and measures

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of empirical studies on project-based learning has been conducted with a focus on student outcomes, including cognitive outcomes (knowledge and cognitive strategies) and behavioral outcomes (i.e., skills and engagement) were measured by questionnaires, rubrics, tests, interviews, observation, self-reflection journals, artifacts, and log data.

The relation between in-service teachers' digital competence and personal and contextual factors: What matters most?

TL;DR: Gender and age differences were found, but the number of tools used for teaching and learning was the strongest predictor of teachers' digital competence, followed by ease of use, confidence in using digital technology, and openness to new technology.

Adaptive Education and Student Outcomes: A Quantitative Synthesis. 1985/11.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of adaptive education on cognitive, affective, and behavioral outcomes of learning were calculated using statistical data from 38 studies that contained a combined sample of approximately 7,200 students.

Exploring the Effectiveness and Moderators of Block-Based Visual Programming on Student Learning: A Meta-Analysis:

TL;DR: A meta-analysis was carried out to systemically examine 29 empirical studies using experimental or quasi-experiments involving the programming learning effects of employing block-based visual programming tools to date and showed a small to medium significant positive overall mean effect size of the use of these block- Based Visual Programming tools with respect to students’ academic achievement.
