Cycloisomerization of 1,n-enynes: challenging metal-catalyzed rearrangements and mechanistic insights.
TL;DR: This Review aims to highlight the main contributions in this field of catalysis and to propose and comment on the mechanistic insights of the recent discoveries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tandem catalysis: a taxonomy and illustrative review
TL;DR: In this article, a taxonomy of one-pot, coupled catalytic transformations is presented, which distinguishes between onepot, domino/cascade, and tandem catalysis, and the proposed taxonomy is illustrated with examples drawn from olefin metathesis and hydroformylation chemistry.

Palladium-catalyzed direct arylation of simple arenes in synthesis of biaryl molecules
TL;DR: This account describes recent progress by this group and others in the development of intramolecular direct arylation of aryl chlorides, bromides and iodides in high yield as well as conditions capable of achieving intermolecular Direct Arylation with simple arenes.

The atom economy--a search for synthetic efficiency
TL;DR: Transition metal-catalyzed methods that are both selective and economical for formation of cyclic structures, of great interest for biological purposes, represent an important starting point for this long-term goal.

Atom Economy—A Challenge for Organic Synthesis: Homogeneous Catalysis Leads the Way
TL;DR: The ability of transition metal complexes to preorganize π-electron systems serves as the basis both of simple additions usually accompanied by subsequent hydrogen shifts and of cycloadditions as mentioned in this paper.

Sequential Transformations in Organic Chemistry: A Synthetic Strategy with a Future†
Lutz F. Tietze,Uwe Beifuss +1 more
TL;DR: Organic-chemical synthesis has always fascinated chemists and will not lose its importance in the future as mentioned in this paper, and it is a truism that all chemists are dependent on the synthesis of those compounds with which they want to work.

Electron spin resonance studies of transient alkyl radicals
TL;DR: In this article, the ESR lines are found to be narrow; considerable fine structure is observable, permitting positive assignment of the radical species, and accurate hyperfine constants are reported for 21 alkyl and cycloalkyl radicals, including several deuterated species.
