Students' evaluations of University teaching: Research findings, methodological issues, and directions for future research

TLDR
This article provided an overview of findings and of research methodology used to study students' evaluations of teaching effectiveness, and examined implications and directions for future research, concluding that students' ratings are primarily a function of the instructor who teaches a course rather than the course that is taught, and relatively valid against a variety of indicators of effective teaching.

Effect of the Number of Variables on Measures of Fit in Structural Equation Modeling.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the number of variables on model fit in structural equation modeling is investigated, and it is shown that root mean squared error of approximation (RMSEA) tends to improve regardless of the type of specification error.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Relationship Between Research and Teaching: A Meta-Analysis

TL;DR: A review of various models of the relationship between research and teaching in universities is presented, and the evidence necessary to assess each model is outlined as mentioned in this paper, concluding that the relationship is zero.

Convergent and discriminant validation by the multitrait-multimethod matrix.

TL;DR: This transmutability of the validation matrix argues for the comparisons within the heteromethod block as the most generally relevant validation data, and illustrates the potential interchangeability of trait and method components.
