Studies of the speciation of plutonium and other actinides in natural groundwater using anion exchange resin
TLDR
In this paper, an anion exchange technique has been developed and used to study the chemical speciation of radionuclides in a contaminant plume originating from an infiltration pit used for managing low-level wastes.About:

Determination of plutonium isotopes in waters and environmental solids: A review.
TL;DR: Recently reported methods for determination of Pu isotopes in waters and environmental solid substrates, in which sample pre-treatment is imperative for separation of the target species from matrix ingredients and/or potentially interfering nuclides prior to detection by radiometric or mass spectrometric techniques are summarized and critically compares.

60Co aqueous speciation and pH effect on the adsorption behavior on inorganic materials.
TL;DR: (60)Co was present only as a cationic species at pH 1, 3, 5 and 7 and a neutral species at alkaline pH and the radionuclide content was determined by gamma-spectrometry.

Fractionation of radionuclide species in the environment.
TL;DR: Fractionation techniques which can be utilised for radionuclide speciation purposes are reviewed, finding that high molecular mass species, such as colloids, polymers, pseudocolloids and particles, are believed to be mobile and potentially bioavailable.

Migration behavior of eu(iii) in sandy soil in the presence of dissolved organic materials
TL;DR: In this paper, column experiments were conducted to study the mobility of Eu(III) in sandy soil in the presence of dissolved organic material (DOMs) using a constant feed technique, where a site specific DOM, isolated from the groundwater at Chalk River in Canada, a reagent humic acid (HA) from Aldrich Co. Ltd. and Suwannee River HA and River fulvic acid (FA) from the International Humic Substances Society, as reference materials, were used in the column experiments.

Humics and Radionuclide Migration
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the properties of humic molecules and their role in the migration of radionuclides in geologic media, including the strong complexing and redox interactions of the humic materials to metal ions.

The Role of Natural Organics in Radionuclide Migration in Natural Aquifer Systems
TL;DR: In this paper, a wide variety of organic compounds present in natural waters are assessed for the role they may play in radionuclide and especially actinide migration, and some natural analog and environmental data are briefly reviewed for evaluation of the effect of organics in these systems.

Subsurface cobalt-60 migration from a low-level waste disposal site
TL;DR: Results of sequential desorption of sediment-bound radiocobalt show that at least three sorption mechanisms (ion exchange, sorption by iron oxide coatings, and ''fixation'') must be involved, and on average, more than 80% of the sorbed /sup 60/Co is ''fixed''.

TL;DR: In the last few years numerous reviews, reports and a few books have been published on speciation studies of transuranic actinides as discussed by the authors, but only a few of these publications has the speciation of the transuran actinide been discussed.
