TLDR
Results indicate that there is a correlation between the particles on the green membrane and cytochrome oxidase.

Mechanisms of Resistance to Daunorubicin in Ehrlich Ascites Tumor Cells

Torben Skovsgaard
- 01 Jun 1978 -
TL;DR: The data indicate that lower drug uptake in cells resistant to daunorubicin may be a result of at least three different mechanisms: a lower influx, a higher active extrusion, and a lower affinity for intracellular binding sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mitochondria-targeted cytoprotective peptides for ischemia-reperfusion injury.

TL;DR: A novel class of cell-permeable small peptides (Szeto-Schiller peptides) that selectively partition to the inner mitochondrial membrane and possess intrinsic mitoprotective properties are focused on.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lipid peroxidation and alterations to oxidative metabolism in mitochondria isolated from rat heart subjected to ischemia and reperfusion.

TL;DR: It is proposed that the reperfusion-induced decline in the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase activity can be ascribed, at least in part, to a loss of cardiolipin content, due to peroxidative attack of its unsaturated fatty acids by oxygen free radicals.

Determination of serum proteins by means of the biuret reaction.

TL;DR: An investigation of the biochemical changes following experimental liver injury felt the need of a simple, rapid, and accurate method for determining the protein fractions in small amounts of serum and began with Kingsley’s biuret procedure.

A Method for Determining the Sedimentation Behavior of Enzymes: Application to Protein Mixtures

TL;DR: Sucrose gradient centrifugation is found to be a suitable method for determining sedimentation coefficients of enzymes in protein mixtures and the sedimentation behavior of several of the enzymes in the pathway of histidine biosynthesis in S. typhimurium has been determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on cytochrome oxidase. III. Improved preparation and some properties.

TL;DR: Observations suggest that significant heme-copper interaction exists between the EPR-sensitive copper chromophore and cy tochrome a on one hand and cytochrome a3 on the other and some of the divergent results reported in the literature may be reconciled.
