Blended wind fields for wave modeling of tropical cyclones in the South China Sea and East China Sea

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a blended TC wind model combining two datasets, which shows good capacity of the TC wind simulation, and applied the blended wind model is applied in TC wave simulations in the South China Sea and East China Sea (ECS) of 4 years (2011-2014).

A random forest algorithm for nowcasting of intense precipitation events

TL;DR: In this article, a random forest based machine learning algorithm is tested for nowcasting of convective rain with a ground-based radiometer and the results indicate that the proposed model is very sensitive to the boundary layer instability as indicated by the variable importance measure.

Quantitative assessment of meteorological and tropospheric Zenith Hydrostatic Delay models

TL;DR: In this article, a modified Saastamoinen model is developed based on the best average refractivity constant, and is validated by radiosonde data, which shows a strong correlation between errors of model-derived values and latitudes.

Global mapping functions for the atmosphere delay at radio wavelengths

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed expressions for calculating the ratios (mapping functions) of the "line of sight" hydrostatic and wet atmospheric path delays to their corresponding zenith delays at radio wavelengths for elevation angles down to 3°.
