Differentiation of keto groups in the Michael adducts of levoglucosenone with cyclohexanone
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the keto group in the carbohydrate residue of the diastereoisomeric Michael adducts of levoglucosenone and cyclohexanone is more reactive than that in the cyclo-hexanones fragment, and that the adduct can be converted to the corresponding ethylene, trimethylene, and dimethyl ketals, tosylhydrazones, oxiranes, and Wittig methylenation products with complete or high regioselectivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
NEW POLYHETEROPOLYCYCLIC RING SYSTEMS PART XXV. SYNTHESIS OF STEROID-TYPE COMPOUNDS DERIVED FROM 5,5-DIMETHYL- 2,3,5,6-TETRAHYDRO-4H-THIOPYRANO [3,2-g]-BENZTHIADIAZOLE-4-ONE
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of tricyclic ketone, 5,5-dimethyl 2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-thiopyrano[3,2-g] [1,2,3] benzthiadiazole-4-one (V) starting with dimedone is described.

Seleno- and Telluroaldehydes and -ketones
Lynn J. Guziec,F.S. Guziec +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a number of new reagents have been described allowing for direct preparations of selenoaldehydes and selenoketones from the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
