Synthesis of magnetite nanorods and porous hematite nanorods

TLDR
In this paper, the formation of the porosity of hematite was due to the decomposition of FeCO 3 and FeOOH, which played a key role in the forming of the iron oxide nanorods.

Ferromagnetic materials

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors restrict their attention to the ferrites and a few other closely related materials, which are more closely related to anti-ferromagnetic substances than they are to ferromagnetics in which the magnetization results from the parallel alignment of all the magnetic moments present.

Synthesis, properties, and applications of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, the properties, applications, and syntheses of three magnetic iron oxides (hematite, magnetite, and maghemite) are discussed and methods of preparation that allow control over the size, morphology, surface treatment and magnetic properties of their nanoparticles.

Synthesis and characterization of biocompatible Fe3O4 nanoparticles

TL;DR: The results showed that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles coating by sodium oleate had a better biocompatibility, better magnetic properties, easier washing, lower cost, and better dispersion than the magnetite nanoparticles coated by PEG.

Cell toxicity of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

TL;DR: From the MTT assay results, it is observed that the biocompatibility of the nanoparticles, based on cell viabilities, can be enhanced by increasing the r-ratio, regardless of the stirring rate.

Magnetite (Fe3O4) Core−Shell Nanowires: Synthesis and Magnetoresistance

TL;DR: In this paper, high quality MgO/Fe3O4 core−shell nanowires have been successfully synthesized by depositing an epitaxial shell of Fe 3O4 onto single crystal MgOs.

Chemical synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles

TL;DR: Recent advances in the synthesis of various magnetic nanoparticles using colloidal chemical approaches are reviewed and ferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized by the thermal decomposition of organometallic precursors followed by oxidation or by low-temperature reactions inside reverse micelles.
