Optimization of extrusion production lines for EPDM rubber vulcanized with sulphur: A two-phase model based on Finite Elements and kinetic second order differential equation

TL;DR: An alternating tangent approach (AT) is used to drastically reduce the computational efforts required to converge to the optimal solution associated with the maximization of the average tensile strength.

A packaging laminate for a retortable packaging container

TL;DR: In this article, the gas barrier layer is bonded to the paper or paperboard layer by an interjacent lamination or adhesive layer of polypropylene or other olefin polymer, whereby the thickness or quantity of the additional layer may be reduced without deterioration in gas tightness properties in the finished packaging container.
Journal ArticleDOI

Treatability of five micro-pollutants using modified Fenton reaction catalysed by zero-valent iron powder (Fe(0))

TL;DR: In this article, the Fe(0)-catalytic Fenton reaction exhibited complete degradation of all micro-pollutants at initial solution pH 3 but at pH 5, the degradation was 90% for diuron, 80% for gabapentin, 95% for sulfamethoxazole, 100% for terbutryn and 70% of terbuthylazine, respectively.
Book ChapterDOI

Polymerisation of Hydrocarbons by Radioactive Minerals in Sedimentary Rocks: Diagenetic and Economic Significance

TL;DR: Solid bitumen envelopes around radioactive clastic grains in sandstones from the Perth and Bonaparte basins of Western Australia display textures that resemble those induced by the irradiation of oil in the laboratory as mentioned in this paper.
