Journal ArticleDOI

The validity and inter-device variability of the Apple Watch™ for measuring maximal heart rate.

TL;DR: The Apple Watch™ has good to very good criterion validity for measuring HRmax, with no substantial under- or over-estimation and moderate and small prediction errors for the left and right watches.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advances in sclerotherapy.

TL;DR: Dermatologists with an interest in phlebology should strive to perceive veins as a complete system, with the dermal telangiectatic component not as a separate skin disorder but as a manifestation of venous hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI

Validation of a Photoplethysmographic Heart Rate Monitor: Polar OH1.

TL;DR: OH1 represents a valid tool to monitor instantaneous HR and training load, especially for endurance sports, and TRIMPs from the OH1 device were inferior to criterion's (except walking and soccer), within a 3% range from reference.
Journal ArticleDOI

Noninvasive assessment of local nicotinate pharmacodynamics by photoplethysmography.

TL;DR: The local pharmacodynamics of a topical vasodilator (methyl nicotinate) has been followed noninvasively using photopulse plethysmography to suggest that the pharmacodynamic measurements of this study may prove useful in elucidating aspects of dermal pharmacokinetics.
