Multi-addressable molecular switches based on photochromic diarylethenes bearing a rhodamine unit

TL;DR: In this paper, two diarylethenes bearing a rhodamine unit linked by a benzhydrazide bridge group have been successfully synthesized, and they showed excellent photochormism with alternating UV/vis light irradiation.

Redox-Modulated Stepwise Photochromism in a Ruthenium Complex with Dual Dithienylethene-Acetylides

TL;DR: The preparation, characterization, and photochromic properties of a bis(σ-acetylide) bonded ruthenium(II) complex 2oo and its oxidized form 2oo(+) with two identical DTE- acetylides (L1o) are described and it is demonstrated that stepwise photo chromic reactions 2oo→2co→2cc are more facile than 2oo–2co–2cc.

The Conservation of Orbital Symmetry (福井謙一とフロンティア軌導理論) -- (参考論文)

TL;DR: In this article, the most basic ideas of molecular orbital theory-the concepts of symmetry, overlap, interaction, bonding, and the nodal structure of wave functions are used to rationalize and predict the stereochemical course of virtually every concerted organic reaction.

Synthesis and the effects of substitution upon photochromic diarylethenes bearing an isoxazole moiety

TL;DR: In this article, a new class of unsymmetrical photochromic diarylethenes bearing an isoxazole moiety was synthesized and the effects of substitution on their optical and electrochemical properties were investigated systematically.

A survey of Hammett substituent constants and resonance and field parameters

TL;DR: The Hammett equation has been widely used for the study and interpretation of organic reactions and their mechanisms as mentioned in this paper, and it is astonishing that u constants, obtained simply from the ionization of organic acids in solution, can frequently predict successfully equilibrium and rate constants for a variety of families of reactions in solution.
