TLDR
In this paper, the authors examined the value of the Higgs mass in models with two Higgs doublets and spontaneous CP violation, and showed that in the presence of a softly broken permutation symmetry, the mass can be lower than one TeV without having to resort to unnatural fine-tuning of parameters.

Theory and phenomenology of two-Higgs-doublet models

TL;DR: In this article, theoretical and phenomenological aspects of two-Higgs-doublet extensions of the Standard Model are discussed and a careful study of spontaneous CP violation is presented, including an analysis of the conditions which have to be satisfied in order for a vacuum to violate CP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electroweak Higgs Potentials and Vacuum Stability

TL;DR: In this article, the method of calculating radiative corrections to the scalar potentials is reviewed, with an emphasis on renormalization group improvement of the potential, and the results are then applied to the standard model to derive stringent bounds on Higgs and fermion passes.
Book ChapterDOI

CP violation

TL;DR: The salient features of CP-violating interactions in the standard electroweak theory and in a few of its popular extensions are discussed in this paper, where a brief overview is given on the status and prospects of searches for CP nonconservation effects in low and high energy experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Note on tree-level unitarity in the general two Higgs doublet model

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the case where the Higgs potential is invariant under a discrete symmetry transformation, and derived strong constraints on the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson (Mh) as a function of tanβ.
Journal ArticleDOI

Basis-independent methods for the two-Higgs-doublet model

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of basis independent quantities that determine all tree-level Higgs couplings and masses are presented, and some examples of the basis-independent treatment of 2HDM discrete symmetries are presented.

CP Violation in the Renormalizable Theory of Weak Interaction

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that no CP-violating interactions exist in the quartet scheme without introducing any other new fields, and that the strong interaction must be chiral SU ( 4) X SU( 4) invariant as precisely as the conservation of the third component of the iso-spin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gauge Theory of CP Nonconservation

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that nonconservation arises purely from the exchange of Higgs bosons, and that non-conservation can be explained by exchange of the bosons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strength of weak interactions at very high energies and the Higgs boson mass

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that if the Higgs boson mass exceeds Mc=(8π23GF)12 partial-wave unitarity is not respected by the tree diagrams for two-body reactions of gauge bosons, then the weak interactions must become strong.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spontaneous CP Nonconservation in Theories with More Than Four Quarks

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that spontaneous CP breaking and natural flavor conservation lead to a class of theories where CP nonconservation is due solely to Higgs exchange, for an arbitrary number of fermion generations.
