TLDR
In this paper, the authors considered the case where the Higgs potential is invariant under a discrete symmetry transformation, and derived strong constraints on the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson (Mh) as a function of tanβ.

Theory and phenomenology of two-Higgs-doublet models

TL;DR: In this article, theoretical and phenomenological aspects of two-Higgs-doublet extensions of the Standard Model are discussed and a careful study of spontaneous CP violation is presented, including an analysis of the conditions which have to be satisfied in order for a vacuum to violate CP.

The CP-conserving two-Higgs-doublet model: the approach to the decoupling limit

TL;DR: In this paper, the decoupling limit of the most general CP-conserving two-Higgs-doublet model was studied, where the mass of the lightest Higgs scalar is significantly smaller than the masses of the other Higgs bosons of the model.
Journal ArticleDOI

2HDMC - two-Higgs-doublet model calculator

TL;DR: The public C++ code 2HDMC is described which can be used to perform calculations in a general, CP-conserving, two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM).

Higgs potential in the type II seesaw model

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider the general renormalizable doublet/triplet Higgs potential of this model and perform a detailed study of its main dynamical features that depend on ve

Scrutinizing the alignment limit in two-Higgs-doublet models: m h = 125 GeV

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider CP-conserving two-Higgs-Doublet Models (2HDMs) of Type I and Type II near the alignment limit in which the heavier of the two CP-even Higgs bosons, $H$, is the SM-like state observed with a mass of 125 GeV, and the couplings of $H$ to gauge bosons approach those of the SM.

Broken Symmetries and the Masses of Gauge Bosons

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the spin-one quanta of some of the gauge fields acquire mass; the longitudinal degrees of freedom of these particles (which would be absent if their mass were zero) go over into the Goldstone bosons when the coupling tends to zero.

Evidence for oscillation of atmospheric neutrinos

Y. Fukuda, +124 more
Abstract: We present an analysis of atmospheric neutrino data from a 33.0 kton yr (535-day) exposure of the Super-Kamiokande detector. The data exhibit a zenith angle dependent deficit of muon neutrinos which is inconsistent with expectations based on calculations of the atmospheric neutrino flux. Experimental biases and uncertainties in the prediction of neutrino fluxes and cross sections are unable to explain our observation. The data are consistent, however, with two-flavor ${\ensuremath{ u}}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}\ensuremath{\leftrightarrow}{\ensuremath{ u}}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ oscillations with ${sin}^{2}2\ensuremath{\theta}g0.82$ and $5\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}l\ensuremath{\Delta}{m}^{2}l6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1{0}^{\ensuremath{-}3}\mathrm{eV}{}^{2}$ at 90% confidence level.

The Higgs Hunter's Guide

TL;DR: The Higgs Hunter's Guide as mentioned in this paper is a comprehensive and comprehensive guide to the physics of Higgs bosons and discusses the extended Higgs sectors required by those recent theoretical approaches that go beyond the Standard Model, including supersymmetry and superstring inspired models.

Weak interactions at very high energies: The role of the Higgs-boson mass

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the parital wave unitarity is not respected by the tree diagrams for two-body scattering of gauge bosons, and the weak interactions must become strong at high energies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural conservation laws for neutral currents

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the consequences of the assumption that the direct and induced weak neutral currents in an SU(2) gauge theory conserve all quark flavors naturally, i.e., for all values of the parameters of the theory.
