The influence of ultrasonic vibrations on the austenite to martensite transformation in 304L stainless steel
TLDR
In this paper, the effect of ultrasonic vibrations on the austenite to martensite transformation in 304L stainless steel was examined by passing powerful acoustic ultrasonic energy into the specimen before transformation.About:

Direct correlation between martensitic transformation and incubation-acceleration transition in solution-treated AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel cavitation
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed how the γ→α′(e) (austenite (γ), martensite (α′, e)) strain-induced martensitic transformation affects the cavitation erosion behavior of the solution-treated AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel.

Alternate stresses and temperature variation as factors of influence of ultrasonic vibration on mechanical and functional properties of shape memory alloys
TL;DR: It was found that action of alternate stresses led to appearance of strain jumps on the strain-temperature curves during cooling and heating the sample through the temperature range of martensitic transformation under the constant stress.

Softening mechanisms in ultrasonic treatment of deformed austenitic stainless steel
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of ultrasonic treatment on the microstructural evolution and the related softening process in tensile pre-deformed 316 stainless steel was studied by means of electron backscatter diffraction method, optical microscopy, and microhardness measurement.

Hydrogen-Induced Phase Transformations in Type 304L Stainless Steels

TL;DR: The formation of the ϵ phase by cathodic charging suggests that hydrogen lowers the stacking fault energy of austenite as mentioned in this paper, but no evidence of a hexagonal hydride was found.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of superposition of fast neutrons (>0·1 MeV; ∼2 × 1016 n/cm2) and intense ultrasound (∼25 w/cm 2 at 20 kc) in aluminium single crystals having diameters between 0·6 and 1·5 mm were compared.

Effect of Ultrasonic Vibrations in Some Heat Treatments
Abstract: The effect of ultrasonic vibrations on many heat treatment processes, primarily ageing, and other such as, hardening of solid and porous compacts, spheroidisation, etc. are described. Results obtained with regard to ageing are particularly promising and indicate the possibility of obtaining a distinctly shorter process time as also an increased ductility at the same strength. These features may be of interest to the aircraft industry.
