On attenuation of seismic waves associated with flow in fractures
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors numerically simulated deformation induced fluid flow along two intersecting fractures to investigate the physics of attenuation related to the interaction of fracture-induced fluid flow and to leak-off.

Pore space characterization in carbonate rocks — Approach to combine nuclear magnetic resonance and elastic wave velocity measurements
TL;DR: In this article, the pore aspect ratio received from velocity interpretation and pore-surface-to-pore-volume ratio Spor were combined with theoretical calculations for ellipsoidal inclusions.

Impacts of the pore- and petro-fabrics on porosity exponent and lithology factor of Archie’s equation for carbonate rocks
TL;DR: In this paper, a trial to assign the identity of Archie's parameters and their controlling factors was conducted for 261 carbonate core samples (representing Risan Aneiza, Halal, Bir Maghara, Rajabia and Masajid Formations, in Sinai Peninsula in Egypt), and the studied samples can be grouped into three major facies types which are further discriminated into ten sub-facies; each one has its diagnostic Archie’s parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved estimation of mineral and fluid volumetric concentrations from well logs in thinly bedded and invaded formations
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated three nonlinear inversion methods for assessment of volumetric concentrations of mineral and fluid constituents of rocks from multiple well logs, and all three of these methods accounted for the shoulder-bed and/or invasion effects on well logs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Revisiting the Wyllie time average equation in the case of near‐spherical pores
TL;DR: In this paper, a generalized Wyllie equation is proposed to better describe acoustic velocity variation with porosity in rocks with a mixture of intercrystalline and near-spherical pores.
