Abstract
THE theory of switching circuits may be divided into two major divisions, analysis and synthesis. The problem of analysis, determining the manner of operation of a given switching circuit, is comparatively simple. The inverse problem of finding a circuit satisfying certain given operating conditions, and in particular the best circuit is, in general, more difficult and more important from the practical standpoint. A basic part of the general synthesis problem is the design of a two-terminal network with given operating characteristics, and we shall consider some aspects of this problem.

Complexity and structure of near-minimal contact circuits for elementary symmetric functions

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the problem of the synthesis of contact circuits for elementary symmetric functions and established the structure of minimal contact circuits realizing these functions, and the estimates of the complexity of the obtained circuits were determined to within an additive constant.

The Value of Help Bits in Randomized and Average-Case Complexity

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the value of help bits in the settings of randomized and average-case complexity, and showed that the problem is in P/poly if using help bits, the problem can be efficiently solved with probability greater than 2 ǫ(ǫ-ell-k).

Information Measure as Time Complexity.

Guo Zhao
TL;DR: This work shows that the information measure of a function is related to the time complexity of search problems concerning the functions in question, and reduces the problem of proving FP!=FNP to the computation of the entropy of certain simple functions, such as the subset sum function.

A logical calculus of the ideas immanent in nervous activity

TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that many particular choices among possible neurophysiological assumptions are equivalent, in the sense that for every net behaving under one assumption, there exists another net which behaves under another and gives the same results, although perhaps not in the same time.
