Triplet—Triplet Annihilation and Delayed Fluorescence in Molecular Aggregates

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the triplet-triplet annihilation in pure and mixed organic crystals and showed that triplet excitation migration may proceed from trap to trap on a time scale which is short compared with the long triplet state lifetime but which is long compared with normal fluorescence lifetime.

Pairing forces and nuclear collective motion

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of pairing forces on the collective vibrations in nuclei is studied using a perturbation expansion, and the result is found to agree with that given by Belyaev using the superconductivity approximation except that here the number of particles is conserved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theory of Spin-Orbit Coupling in Atoms. I. Derivation of the Spin-Orbit Coupling Constant

TL;DR: In this paper, an exact expression for the spin-orbit coupling constant was derived within the Hartree-Fock description of the atom by considering the two body mutual spinorbit interaction between electrons.

Solar UV and X-ray spectral diagnostics

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the diagnostic methods used to measure electron densities, electron temperatures, differential emission measure (DEM), and relative chemical abundances is presented, focusing on the optically thin emission from the solar atmosphere, mostly found at UV and X-ray (XUV) wavelengths.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Theory of Magnetic Resonance Experiments on Salts of the Rare Earths

TL;DR: In this paper, a general account of paramagnetic resonance in rare-earth crystals is given, assuming that the crystalline electric field splitting is less than the spin-orbit splitting.
