Abstract
We condsider the diffraction of the dominant wave mode in a parallel plate waveguide with hard and soft boundaries incident on a centred half plane on whose two faces hard and soft boundary conditions obtain. A closed form solution of the resulting coupled Wiener-Hopf system is derived. The modal amplitudes in all three regions are calculated and the relative powers of the low order modes versus the plate spacing are displayed graphically.

Wave Propagation in Bifurcated Waveguides of Square Lattice Strips

TL;DR: It is shown that the limiting wave field, as the waveguide width tends to infinity, coincides with that on an infinite lattice; the proof is presented in the dissipative case.

Wave scattering of non-planar trifurcated waveguide by varying the incident through multiple regions:

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors elucidates a non-planar trifurcated wave scattering problem by considering incident wave through multiple regions of the underlying waveguide, and analyzes the scattered field potentials in respect to the incident wave.

Effect of soft outer lining in pentafurcated duct

TL;DR: In this article, the diffraction of the lowest plane wave propagating out of the opening of a semi-infinite hard duct that is symmetrically placed inside an infinite soft duct is described.

The Sommerfeld half‐plane problem revisited, V: The bifurcated guide with mixed boundary conditions on the septum

TL;DR: In this paper, the boundary value problem in a duct with a centered septum is formulated as a pair of integral equations of the Wiener-Hopf type for which solutions for two modes of excitation as well as real and complex wave number are provided.

The solution of a mixed boundary value problem in the theory of diffraction by a semi-infinite plane

TL;DR: In this article, a solution for the diffraction of a plane wave sound source by a semi-infinite half plane was obtained for the problem of diffraction in the shadow region, where the absorbing lining is on the side of the screen which makes the smallest angle to the source or the receiver from the edge.

On the factorization of Wiener-Hopf matrices in problems solvable with Hurd's method

TL;DR: In this paper, a class of two simultaneous Wiener-Hopf equations is reduced to the factorization and decomposition of scalar functions, and it has been shown that the problems previously solved by the Hilbert-Hurd method lead to WienerHopf systems that belong to this class.

Diffraction by an infinite set of soft/hard parallel half planes

E. Lüneburg, +1 more
- 01 May 1982 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the diffraction of a plane wave by an infinite set of parallel equidistant half planes, where the total field vanishes on one side, and the normal derivative vanishes at the other side.
