Vibrations of an initially stressed transversely isotropic circular thick plate

TLDR
In this article, the effects of various parameters on the natural frequencies of axisymmetric clamped plates and simply supported plates subjected to initial stresses are investigated, where the initial stress is a combination of a pure bending stress plus an extensional stress in the plane of the plate.

Voltage Control of the Resonance Frequency of Dielectric Electroactive Polymer (DEAP) Membranes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on the characterization, active tuning, and modeling of the first mode resonance frequency of dielectric electroactive polymer (DEAP) membranes, which requires no external actuators or variable elements.

Vibrations of initially stressed thick circular and annular plates based on a high-order plate theory

TL;DR: In this article, the average stress method is used to derive the governing equations for circular and annular plates in a general state of initial stress based on a high-order plate theory.

Free vibration and active control of pre-stretched multilayered electroactive plates

TL;DR: In this article, the free vibration analysis of a pre-stretched SEAM plate is investigated based on the linearized biasing theory of electro-elasticity, and a three-dimensional solution is obtained by using the new-type state-space formulations.

Axisymmetric dynamic stability of transversely isotropic Mindlin circular plates

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamic stability of transversely isotropic Mindlin circular plates subjected to periodic radial loads is studied and the effects of some parameters on the dynamic instability regions are investigated.

Dynamic Response of a Pre-Stressed Transversely Isotropic Plate to Impact by an Elastic Rod

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered the normal impact of a long thin elastic cylindrical rod upon an infinite pre-stressed elastic transversely isotropic plate possessing cylinear anisotropy, whose equations of motion take both rotary inertia and shear deformations into account.

Thickness-shear and flexural vibrations of a circular disk

TL;DR: In this paper, the coupled thickness shear and flexural vibrations of isotropic, elastic plates are solved for the case of a circular disk with free edges, and the results of computations are given for the resonant frequencies analogous to those which would be excited in an AT-cut quartz disk with full electrode coating.

Vibration of Circular Plates

TL;DR: In this article, the vibration of circular plates with a large initial tension (or compression) was studied for the case of simply supported and clamped edges, and the basic equation used is that of the Poisson-Kirchhoff theory.

Natural frequencies of simply supported circular plates

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of finding the natural frequencies of free vibration of a simply supported circular plate has a straightforward solution, but very few numerical results are available in the literature.
