A Survey on Protograph LDPC Codes and Their Applications
TL;DR: This paper provides a comprehensive survey on the state-of-the-art in protograph LDPC code design and analysis for different channel conditions, including the additive white Gaussian noise channels, fading channels, partial response channels, and Poisson pulse-position modulation channels.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Collaborative secret key extraction leveraging Received Signal Strength in mobile wireless networks
TL;DR: This work proposes a framework for collaborative key generation among a group of wireless devices leveraging RSS and develops a secret key extraction scheme exploiting the trend exhibited in RSS resulted from shadow fading, which is robust to outsider adversary performing stalking attacks.
Journal ArticleDOI
PHLAME: A Physical Layer Aware MAC protocol for Electromagnetic nanonetworks in the Terahertz Band
TL;DR: The results show that, despite its simplicity, the PHLAME protocol is able to support densely populated nanonetworks by exploiting the peculiarities of the Terahertz band.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Range-only SLAM with a mobile robot and a Wireless Sensor Networks
TL;DR: The localization of a mobile robot while simultaneously mapping the position of the nodes of a Wireless Sensor Network using only range measurements is presented using a generic path loss model for the trasmission channel.
Journal ArticleDOI
MAJoRCom: A Dual-Function Radar Communication System Using Index Modulation
TL;DR: The numerical results demonstrate that MAJoRCom is capable of achieving a bit rate which is comparable to utilizing independent communication modules without affecting the radar performance, and that the proposed low-complexity decoder allows the receiver to reliably recover the transmitted symbols with an affordable computational burden.

A simple transmit diversity technique for wireless communications
TL;DR: This paper presents a simple two-branch transmit diversity scheme that provides the same diversity order as maximal-ratio receiver combining (MRRC) with one transmit antenna, and two receive antennas.

Low-Density Parity-Check Codes
TL;DR: A simple but nonoptimum decoding scheme operating directly from the channel a posteriori probabilities is described and the probability of error using this decoder on a binary symmetric channel is shown to decrease at least exponentially with a root of the block length.

The capacity of wireless networks
Piyush Gupta,P. R. Kumar +1 more
TL;DR: When n identical randomly located nodes, each capable of transmitting at W bits per second and using a fixed range, form a wireless network, the throughput /spl lambda/(n) obtainable by each node for a randomly chosen destination is /spl Theta/(W//spl radic/(nlogn)) bits persecond under a noninterference protocol.
Book
Digital Communication over Fading Channels
TL;DR: The book gives many numerical illustrations expressed in large collections of system performance curves, allowing the researchers or system designers to perform trade-off studies of the average bit error rate and symbol error rate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Good error-correcting codes based on very sparse matrices
TL;DR: It is proved that sequences of codes exist which, when optimally decoded, achieve information rates up to the Shannon limit, and experimental results for binary-symmetric channels and Gaussian channels demonstrate that practical performance substantially better than that of standard convolutional and concatenated codes can be achieved.
