Multienergy photon-counting K-edge imaging: potential for improved luminal depiction in vascular imaging.
Sebastian Feuerlein,Ewald Roessl,Roland Proksa,Gerhard Martens,Oliver Klass,Martin Jeltsch,Volker Rasche,Hans-Juergen Brambs,Martin H. K. Hoffmann,Jens-Peter Schlomka +9 more
TL;DR: This study investigated whether spectral computed tomography has the potential to improve luminal depiction by differentiating among intravascular gadolinium-based contrast agent, calcified plaque, and stent material by using the characteristic k edge of gadolinia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Material separation in x-ray CT with energy resolved photon-counting detectors
TL;DR: In x-ray computed tomography (CT), more than two types of materials can be effectively separated with the use of an energy resolved photon-counting detector and classification methodology, and this applies to the case when contrast agents that contain K-absorption edges in the energy range of interest are present in the object.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-ray fluorescent CT imaging of cerebral uptake of stable-iodine perfusion agent iodoamphetamine analog IMP in mice
Tohoru Takeda,Jin Wu,Thet-Thet-Lwin,Qingkai Huo,Tetsuya Yuasa,Kazuyuki Hyodo,F. Avraham Dilmanian,Takao Akatsuka +7 more
TL;DR: Using X-ray fluorescent computed tomography, the in vivo and ex vivo cerebral distribution of a stable-iodine-labeled cerebral perfusion agent, iodoamphetamine analog (127I-IMP), has been recorded in the brains of mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Demonstration of iodine K-edge imaging by use of an energy-discrimination X-ray computed tomography system with a cadmium telluride detector
Abulajiang Abudurexiti,Masashi Kameda,Eiichi Sato,Purkhet Abderyim,Toshiyuki Enomoto,Manabu Watanabe,Keitaro Hitomi,Etsuro Tanaka,Hidezo Mori,Toshiaki Kawai,Kiyomi Takahashi,Shigehiro Sato,Akira Ogawa,Jun Onagawa +13 more
TL;DR: An energy-discrimination K-edge X-ray computed tomography (CT) system is useful for increasing the contrast resolution of a target region by utilizing contrast media.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of an oscillation-type linear cadmium telluride detector to enhanced gadolinium K-edge computed tomography
Hiroshi Matsukiyo,Eiichi Sato,Osahiko Hagiwara,Abulajiang Abudurexiti,Akihiro Osawa,Toshiyuki Enomoto,Manabu Watanabe,Jiro Nagao,Shigehiro Sato,Akira Ogawa,Jun Onagawa +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an oscillation-type linear cadmium telluride (CdTe) detector is used for carrying out energy-discrimination X-ray imaging, including computed tomography (CT).
