The Gaia-ESO Survey: Probes of the inner disk abundance gradient
Heather R. Jacobson,Eileen D. Friel,Lucie Jílková,Laura Magrini,Angela Bragaglia,Antonella Vallenari,Monica Tosi,Sofia Randich,Paolo Donati,Tristan Cantat-Gaudin,R. Sordo,Rodolfo Smiljanic,J. C. Overbeek,Giovanni Carraro,Grazina Tautvaisiene,I. San Roman,S. Villanova,Douglas Geisler,C. Munoz,F. M. Jiménez-Esteban,F. M. Jiménez-Esteban,Baitian Tang,Gerard Gilmore,Emilio J. Alfaro,Thomas Bensby,Ettore Flaccomio,Sergey E. Koposov,Sergey E. Koposov,Andreas Korn,Elena Pancino,Alejandra Recio-Blanco,Andrew R. Casey,M. T. Costado,E. Franciosini,Ulrike Heiter,Vanessa Hill,A. Hourihane,Carmela Lardo,P. de Laverny,Jack Lewis,Lorenzo Monaco,L. Morbidelli,G. G. Sacco,S. G. Sousa,Clare Worley,Simone Zaggia +45 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the metallicity gradient of the inner disk using a sample of inner disk open clusters that is three times larger than has previously been studied in the literature to better characterize the gradient in this part of the disk.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Gaia-ESO Survey: Inhibited extra mixing in two giants of the open cluster Trumpler 20?
Rodolfo Smiljanic,E. Franciosini,Sofia Randich,Laura Magrini,Angela Bragaglia,L. Pasquini,Antonella Vallenari,Grazina Tautvaisiene,K. Biazzo,Antonio Frasca,Paolo Donati,Paolo Donati,E. Delgado Mena,Andrew R. Casey,Douglas Geisler,S. Villanova,Baitian Tang,S. G. Sousa,Gerard Gilmore,Thomas Bensby,P. Francois,P. Francois,Sergey E. Koposov,A. C. Martell +36 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the discovery of two Li-rich giants, with A(Li) ~ 1.50, in an analysis of a sample of 40 giants of the open cluster Trumpler 20 (with turnoff mass 1.8 Msun).
Journal ArticleDOI
A spectroscopic survey of thick disc stars outside the solar neighbourhood
Georges Kordopatis,Alejandra Recio-Blanco,P. de Laverny,G. F. Gilmore,Vanessa Hill,R. F. G. Wyse,Amina Helmi,Albert Bijaoui,Manuela Zoccali,Olivier Bienaymé +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed a spectroscopic survey of nearly 700 stars probing the galactic thick disc far from the solar neighbourhood towards the galactic coordinates (l~277, b~47), and derived effective temperatures, surface gravities and overall metallicities were then combined with stellar evolution isochrones, radial velocities and proper motions to derive the distances, kinematics and orbital parameters of the sample stars.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Gaia-ESO Survey: A globular cluster escapee in the Galactic halo
Karin Lind,Sergey E. Koposov,Sergey E. Koposov,Chiara Battistini,Anna F. Marino,Gregory R. Ruchti,Aldo Serenelli,Clare Worley,Alan Alves-Brito,Martin Asplund,Paul S. Jackson,Carmela Lardo,Simone Zaggia +42 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors search for outliers in the Mg and Al abundances of the few hundreds of halo field stars observed in the first eighteen months of the Gaia-ESO public spectroscopic survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stellar parametrization from Gaia RVS spectra
Alejandra Recio-Blanco,P. de Laverny,C. Allende Prieto,C. Allende Prieto,D. Fustes,Minia Manteiga,Bernardino Arcay,Albert Bijaoui,Carlos Dafonte,C. Ordénovic,D. Ordoñez Blanco +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, different parametrization codes were adapted for RVS spectra within the GSP-spec working group of the analysis consortium, and their expected performances in the recovered stellar atmospheric parameters (Teff, log(g), [M/H]) for B- to K- type stars.
