Properties of stellar generations in Globular Clusters and relations with global parameters

TL;DR: In this article, the formation of galaxies is studied by adding detailed chemical composition of different stellar generations (from 1200 giants in 19 GCs) to their global parameters, showing that the LF of GCs is fairly independent of their population, suggesting that it is imprinted by the formation mechanism, and only marginally affected by the ensuing evolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

The AMBRE Project: Spectrum normalisation influence on Mg abundances in the metal-rich Galactic disc

TL;DR: In this paper, the GAUGUIN automated abundance estimation procedure was employed to derive Mg abundances for 87522 high-resolution spectra of 2210 solar neighborhood stars from the AMBRE Project, with a clear dependence on the stellar type and the line intensity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gaia Data Release 3. Chemical cartography of the Milky Way

Gaia Collaboration, +449 more
TL;DR: Gaia DR3 as discussed by the authors provides a powerful and precise view of the Milky Way with unprecedented spatial coverage and statistical robustness, revealing the strong vertical symmetry of the Galaxy and the flared structure of the disc.
Journal ArticleDOI

The chemodynamics of prograde and retrograde Milky Way stars

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the similarities and differences in the properties between the prograde and retrograde (counter-rotating) stars and set those results in context by using the properties of Gaia -Enceladus-Sausage, Thamnos/Sequoia, and other suggested accreted populations.
