Journal ArticleDOI
Resolution of inflammation by interleukin-9-producing type 2 innate lymphoid cells
Simon Rauber,Markus Luber,Stefanie Weber,Lisa Maul,Alina Soare,Thomas Wohlfahrt,Neng-Yu Lin,Katharina Dietel,Aline Bozec,Martin Herrmann,Mark H. Kaplan,Benno Weigmann,Mario M. Zaiss,Ursula Fearon,Douglas J. Veale,Juan D. Cañete,Oliver Distler,Felice Rivellese,Costantino Pitzalis,Markus F. Neurath,Andrew N. J. McKenzie,Stefan Wirtz,Georg Schett,Jörg H W Distler,Andreas Ramming +24 more
TL;DR: Fostering IL-9-mediated ILC2 activation may offer a novel therapeutic approach inducing resolution of inflammation rather than suppression of inflammatory responses, as patients with rheumatoid arthritis in remission exhibited high numbers of IL- 9+ ILC 2s in joints and the circulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nintedanib inhibits macrophage activation and ameliorates vascular and fibrotic manifestations in the Fra2 mouse model of systemic sclerosis
Jingang Huang,Christiane Maier,Yun Zhang,Alina Soare,Clara Dees,Christian Beyer,Ulrike Harre,Chih-Wei Chen,Oliver Distler,Georg Schett,Lutz Wollin,Jörg H W Distler +11 more
TL;DR: Nintedanib targets core features of SSc in Fra2-transgenic mice and ameliorates histological features of pulmonary arterial hypertension, destructive microangiopathy and pulmonary and dermal fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disentangling inflammatory from fibrotic disease activity by fibroblast activation protein imaging
Christian Schmidkonz,Simon Rauber,Armin Atzinger,Rahul Agarwal,Theresa Ida Götz,Alina Soare,Michael Cordes,Olaf Prante,Christina Bergmann,Arnd Kleyer,Philipp Ritt,Simone Maschauer,Peter Hennig,Johannes Toms,Markus Köhner,Bernhard Manger,John H. Stone,Uwe Haberkorn,Tobias Baeuerle,Jörg H W Distler,Abbas Agaimy,Torsten Kuwert,Georg Schett,Andreas Ramming +23 more
TL;DR: This finding may profoundly change the management of certain forms of immune-mediated disease, such as IgG4-related disease, as subtypes dominated by fibrosis may require different approaches to control disease progression, for example, specific antifibrotic agents rather than broad spectrum anti-inflammatory treatments such as glucocorticoids.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dipeptidylpeptidase 4 as a Marker of Activated Fibroblasts and a Potential Target for the Treatment of Fibrosis in Systemic Sclerosis
Alina Soare,Hermina A. Györfi,A. E. Matei,Clara Dees,Simon Rauber,Thomas Wohlfahrt,Chih-Wei Chen,Ingo Ludolph,Raymund E. Horch,Tobias Bäuerle,Stephan von Hörsten,Carina Mihai,Oliver Distler,Andreas Ramming,Georg Schett,Jörg H W Distler +15 more
TL;DR: Evaluated DPP‐4 as a potential target for the treatment of fibrosis in patients with systemic sclerosis and identified a dermal fibroblast lineage involved in scarring during wound healing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Frontiers of antifibrotic therapy in systemic sclerosis
Jörg H W Distler,Carol Feghali-Bostwick,Alina Soare,Yoshihide Asano,Oliver Distler,David Abraham +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss novel insights into the pathogenesis of fibrotic diseases using systemic sclerosis (SSc) as example for an idiopathic, multisystem disorder.
