Proteome-wide Analysis of Lysine Acetylation Suggests its Broad Regulatory Scope in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

TL;DR: The data provides the first global survey of acetylation in budding yeast, and suggests a wide-ranging regulatory scope of this modification, which may serve as an important resource for the functional analysis of lysines in eukaryotes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A conserved arginine plays a role in the catalytic cycle of the protein disulphide isomerases.

TL;DR: The identification of a conserved arginine residue, located in the loop between beta5 and alpha4 of the catalytic domains of the human protein disulphide isomerase (PDI) family, which is critical for the catalysttic function of PDI, ERp57, ER p72 and P5, specifically for reoxidation is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Expanding the lysyl hydroxylase toolbox: new insights into the localization and activities of lysyl hydroxylase 3 (LH3).

TL;DR: It is shown that growth cone migration depends critically on the LH3 glycosyltransferase domain, but, unlike the other isoforms, LH3 is also found in the extracellular space in some tissues, suggesting that it may have a role in matrix remodeling.
Journal ArticleDOI

A class V chitinase from Arabidopsis thaliana : gene responses, enzymatic properties, and crystallographic analysis

TL;DR: All of the structural and functional properties of AtChiC are quite similar to those obtained for NtChiV, and seem to be common to class V chitinases from higher plants.
