BeppoSAX broad-band observations of low-redshift quasars: Spectral curvature and iron K_alpha lines
Teresa Mineo,Fabrizio Fiore,Ari Laor,Elisa Costantini,W. N. Brandt,Andrea Comastri,R. Della Ceca,M. Elvis,T. Maccacaro,S. Molendi +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present results from BeppoSAX observations of 10 low redshift quasars with high energy power-law slopes and the iron line emission properties.

How large is the population of heavily obscured X-ray sources?
Filippo Frontera,Mauro Orlandini,R. Landi,Andrea Comastri,Fabrizio Fiore,Giancarlo Setti,Lorenzo Amati,Enrico Costa,N. Masetti,Eliana Palazzi +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an accurate measurement of the CXB in the 15-50 keV range performed with the Phoswich Detection System (PDS) instrument aboard the BeppoSAX satellite was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Compton-thick AGN and the Synthesis of the Cosmic X-ray Background: the Suzaku Perspective
TL;DR: In this article, the abundance of Compton-thick AGN as estimated by the most recent population synthesis models of the cosmic X-ray background is discussed, and the advances expected by the broad band detectors on board Suzaku are briefly reviewed.
Science with Simbol-X
Fabrizio Fiore,M. Arnaud,Ulrich G. Briel,M. Cappi,Andrea Comastri,Anne Decourchelle,R. Della Ceca,P. Ferrando,Chiara Feruglio,Roberto Gilli,P. Giommi,Andrea Goldwurm,Philippe Laurent,Francois Lebrun,Giuseppe Malaguti,Sandro Mereghetti,Giuseppina Micela,G. Pareschi,Enrico Piconcelli,Simonetta Puccetti,J. P. Roques,G. Tagliaferri,Cristian Vignali +22 more
TL;DR: Simbol-X as mentioned in this paper is a French-Italian mission, with a participation of German laboratories, for X-ray astronomy in the wide 0.5-80 keV band, taking advantage of emerging technology in mirror manufacturing and spacecraft formation flying.

Bepposax uncovers the hidden seyfert 1 nucleus in the seyfert 2 galaxy ngc 2110
Giuseppe Malaguti,Loredana Bassani,M. Cappi,Andrea Comastri,G. Di Cocco,A. C. Fabian,G. G. C. Palumbo,T. Maccacaro,Roberto Maiolino,Philip Blanco,M. Dadina,D. Dal Fiume,Filippo Frontera,M. Trifoglio +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 2110 has been observed with BeppoSAX between 0.5 and 150 keV and the high energy instrument onboard, PDS, has succeeded in measuring for the first time the spectrum of this source in the 13-150 keV range.
