Suzaku observations of hard X-ray selected Seyfert 2 galaxies
Andrea Comastri,K. Iwasawa,Roberto Gilli,Cristian Vignali,Piero Ranalli,Giorgio Matt,Fabrizio Fiore +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Zhang et al. used PIN Hard X-ray Detector (HX-detector) up to several tens of keV to detect hard X-rays from five nearby Seyfert 2 galaxies, and found that a unique model, even including multiple components, fails to represent the spectra of all the sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-UDS: The Chandra Legacy Survey of the UKIDSS Ultra Deep Survey Field
Dale D. Kocevski,Guenther Hasinger,Murray Brightman,Kirpal Nandra,Antonis Georgakakis,Nico Cappelluti,Francesca Civano,Yuxuan Li,Yanxia Li,James Aird,David M. Alexander,Omar Almaini,Marcella Brusa,Marcella Brusa,Johannes Buchner,Johannes Buchner,Andrea Comastri,Christopher J. Conselice,M. Dickinson,Alexis Finoguenov,Alexis Finoguenov,Roberto Gilli,Anton M. Koekemoer,Takamitsu Miyaji,James Mullaney,Casey Papovich,Casey Papovich,David J. Rosario,Mara Salvato,John D. Silverman,Rachel S. Somerville,Rachel S. Somerville,Yoshihiro Ueda +32 more
TL;DR: The X-UDS survey as mentioned in this paper is a set of wide and deep Chandra observations of the Subaru-XMM Deep/UKIDSS Ultra Deep Survey (SXDS/UDS) field.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Chandra COSMOS Legacy Survey: Compton thick AGN at high redshift
Giorgio Lanzuisi,Giorgio Lanzuisi,Francesca Civano,Francesca Civano,Stefano Marchesi,Andrea Comastri,Marcella Brusa,Marcella Brusa,Roberto Gilli,C. Vignali,C. Vignali,G. Zamorani,Murray Brightman,Richard E. Griffiths,Anton M. Koekemoer +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the Chandra COSMOS Legacy point source catalog, comprising 1855 sources, to select via X-ray spectroscopy, a large sample of CT candidates at high redshift.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obscured AGN at z ~1 from the zCOSMOS-Bright Survey I. Selection and optical properties of a [Ne V]-selected sample

McCracken,Michele Moresco,Niraj Welikala,Niraj Welikala +56 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a method for selecting z similar to 1 obscured active galactic nuclei (AGN) from optical spectroscopic surveys by detection of the high-ionization [Ne v] lambda 3426 line.
Journal ArticleDOI
The nature of the unresolved extragalactic cosmic soft X-ray background
Nico Cappelluti,Nico Cappelluti,Piero Ranalli,Piero Ranalli,Mauro Roncarelli,P. Arévalo,G. Zamorani,Andrea Comastri,Roberto Gilli,Emmanouel Rovilos,C. Vignali,C. Vignali,Viola Allevato,Alexis Finoguenov,Takamitsu Miyaji,Fabrizio Nicastro,I. Georgantopoulos,A. Kashlinsky +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the power spectrum of the unresolved 0.5-2 keV cosmic X-ray background (CXB) with deep Chandra 4-Msec (Ms) observations in the Chandra Deep Field South (CDFS) was investigated.
