Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of z ≳ 2 Herschel 500 μM Sources Using Color Deconfusion
X. Shu,X. Shu,D. Elbaz,Nathan Bourne,C. Schreiber,Tongjiang Wang,Tongjiang Wang,James Dunlop,Adriano Fontana,Roger Leiton,Maurilio Pannella,K. Okumura,Michał J. Michałowski,P. Santini,Emiliano Merlin,Fernando Buitrago,V. A. Bruce,Ricardo Amorín,Marco Castellano,S. Derriere,Andrea Comastri,Nico Cappelluti,Jun Xian Wang,Henry C. Ferguson +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a color deconfusion technique was used to search for high-z 2.5-3.5 starbursts in the SCUBA-based Deep Survey-North field using S-500 mu m/S-24 mu m flux density ratios.
Journal ArticleDOI
A growth-rate indicator for Compton-thick active galactic nuclei
M. Brightman,Alberto Masini,Alberto Masini,David R. Ballantyne,Mislav Baloković,W. N. Brandt,C. T. Chen,Andrea Comastri,Duncan Farrah,Poshak Gandhi,Fiona A. Harrison,Claudio Ricci,Daniel Stern,Dominic J. Walton +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a statistically significant correlation between the Eddington ratio and the X-ray power-law index was found for Compton-thick active galactic nuclei (AGN).
Journal ArticleDOI
BeppoSAX observations of Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxies: II. Ionized iron features in Arakelian 564
Andrea Comastri,G. M. Stirpe,Cristian Vignali,W. N. Brandt,Karen M. Leighly,Fabrizio Fiore,Fabrizio Fiore,Matteo Guainazzi,Giorgio Matt,Fabrizio Nicastro,E. M. Puchnarewicz,Aneta Siemiginowska +11 more
TL;DR: The BeppoSAX observations of the bright Narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy Ark 564 are presented along with a high quality optical spectrum taken at the 1.5m telescope at La Silla.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chandra Detection of the Radio and Optical Double Hot Spot of 3c 351
Gianfranco Brunetti,M. Bondi,Andrea Comastri,M. Pedani,S. Varano,Giancarlo Setti,Martin J. Hardcastle +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported a Chandra X-ray detection of the double northern hot spot of the radio quasar 3C 351, which was interpreted as the results of the synchrotron and synchoretron self-Compton mechanisms, respectively, with hot spot magnetic field strengths 3 times smaller than the equipartition values.
Journal ArticleDOI
The MBH Mstar relation of obscured AGNs at high redshift
J. E. Sarria,Roberto Maiolino,F. La Franca,Francesca Pozzi,Francesca Pozzi,Fabrizio Fiore,Alessandro Marconi,C. Vignali,C. Vignali,Andrea Comastri +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the detection of broad Hα emission in three X-ray selected obscured AGNs at z ∼ 1.2 and estimated their black hole masses in the range 0.1 −3 × 10 9 M by means of multi-band photometric data.
