Nature of Symmetry Breaking at the Excitonic Insulator Transition: Ta2NiSe5
Giacomo Mazza,Giacomo Mazza,Giacomo Mazza,Malte Rösner,Lukas Windgätter,Simone Latini,Hannes Hübener,Andrew J. Millis,Angel Rubio,Angel Rubio,Antoine Georges +10 more
TL;DR: A purely electronic order parameter of excitonic nature is identified that breaks these discrete crystal symmetries and contributes to the experimentally observed lattice distortion from an orthorombic to a monoclinic phase.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anderson localization in carbon nanotubes: defect density and temperature effects.
TL;DR: It is shown that low temperatures, about 15-65 K, are enough to smooth out the fluctuations of the conductance without destroying the exponential dependence of the resistivity as a function of the tube length.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrasensitive H2S gas sensors based on p-type WS2 hybrid materials
Georgies Alene Asres,José J. Baldoví,José J. Baldoví,Aron Dombovari,Topias Järvinen,Gabriela S. Lorite,Melinda Mohl,Andrey Shchukarev,Alejandro Pérez Paz,Alejandro Pérez Paz,Lede Xian,Lede Xian,Jyri-Pekka Mikkola,Anita Lloyd Spetz,Anita Lloyd Spetz,Heli Jantunen,Angel Rubio,Angel Rubio,Krisztian Kordas +18 more
TL;DR: Owing to their higher intrinsic electrical conductivity and chemical stability with respect to their oxide counterparts, nanostructured metal sulfides are expected to revive materials for resistive applications as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phonon Driven Floquet Matter
Hannes Hübener,Hannes Hübener,Umberto De Giovannini,Umberto De Giovannini,Angel Rubio,Angel Rubio +5 more
TL;DR: This work establishes that the recently demonstrated concept of light-induced nonequilibrium Floquet phases can also be applied when using coherent phonon modes for the dynamical control of material properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scanning force microscopy characterization of individual carbon nanotubes on electrode arrays
TL;DR: In this paper, the Young modulus of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was estimated based on the scanning force microscopy (SFM) cross sectional analysis of an individual MWNT (8 nm diameter).
