Journal ArticleDOI
Wolcott-Rallison Syndrome: Clinical, Genetic, and Functional Study of EIF2AK3 Mutations and Suggestion of Genetic Heterogeneity
Valérie Senée,Krishna M. Vattem,Marc Delepine,Lynn A. Rainbow,Céline Haton,Annick Lecoq,Nick Shaw,Jean Jacques Robert,R. Rooman,Catherine Diatloff-Zito,Jacques L. Michaud,Bassan Bin-Abbas,Doris Taha,Bernard Zabel,Piergiorgio Franceschini,A. Kemal Topaloglu,G. Mark Lathrop,Timothy Barrett,Marc Nicolino,Ronald C. Wek,Cécile Julier +20 more
TL;DR: The patient with no EIF2AK3 involvement did not have any of the other variable clinical manifestations associated with WRS, which supports the idea that the genetic heterogeneity between this variant form of WRS and EIF 2AK3 WRS correlates with some clinical heterogeneity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetics of human chorionic gonadotropin-induced steroidogenic response of the human testis. II. Plasma 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone, delta4-androstenedione, estrone, and 17 beta-estradiol: evidence for the action of human chorionic gonadotropin on intermediate enzymes implicated in steroid biosynthesis.
TL;DR: The time course of the rise in plasma levels of 17α-hydroxyprogesterone (OHP), Δ4-androstenedione (Δ4), es-trone (E1), and 17β-estradiol (E2) was studied in 14 normal adult volunteers after one, two, or four (at 5-day intervals) injections of 6000 IU hCG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Post-acute COVID-19 syndrome
David Montani,Laurent Savale,Nicolas Noel,Olivier Meyrignac,Romain Colle,Matthieu Gasnier,Emmanuelle Corruble,Antoine Beurnier,Etienne-Marie Jutant,Tài Pham,Annick Lecoq,Jean-François Papon,Samy Figueiredo,Anatole Harrois,Marc Humbert,Xavier Monnet +15 more
TL;DR: The presentation, prevalence, pathophysiology and evolution of respiratory complications and other organ-related injuries associated with post-acute COVID-19 syndrome will be a major issue for various healthcare providers in the coming months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Concentration of 14 Steroid Hormones in Human Amniotic Fluid of Midpregnancy
Maguelone G. Forest,Eveline De Peretti,Annick Lecoq,Evelyne Cadillon,Marie-Thérèse Zabot,Jean-Marie Thoulon +5 more
TL;DR: Determination of AF levels of T would appear to be a valuable screening test for antenatal diagnosis of sex (predictive error, less than or equal to 15%), but not in the presence of steroidogenic enzyme defects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetics of the HCG-induced Steroidogenic Response of the Human Testis. III. Studies in Children of the Plasma Levels of Testosterone and HCG: Rationale for Testicular Stimulation Test
TL;DR: It is speculated that if a possible induction of refractoriness of the Leydig cells is present at this stage, it might “modulate” the testicular response to the increasing levels of luteinizing hormone and partially explain the relatively slow achievement of a fully active testicular secretion in humans.
