WEBT and XMM-Newton observations of 3C 454.3 during the post-outburst phase Detection of the little and big blue bumps ⋆

C. M. Raiteri, +79 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on follow-up observations to study the multiwavelength emission in the post-outburst phase of 3C 454.3 and ascribe this redder-when-brighter behaviour to the presence of a ''little blue bump'' due to line emission from the broad line region, which is clearly visible in the source spectral energy distribution (SED) during faint states.
Journal ArticleDOI

The WEBT Campaign on the Blazar 3C 279 in 2006

Markus Böttcher, +82 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focus on the results of the Whole Earth Blazar Telescope (WEBT) campaign and show that the variability patterns throughout the optical BVRI bands were very closely correlated with each other, while there was no obvious correlation between the optical and radio variability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical flux and spectral variability of blazars

TL;DR: In this paper, the multiband optical flux and colour variations in these blazars on intraday and short-term time-scales of months were measured and the spectral flux distributions in the optical frequency range were analyzed.
