TL;DR: The status of the research on muon colliders is discussed and plans are outlined for future theoretical and experimental studies in this paper, where various components in such colliders, starting from the proton accelerator needed to generate pions from a heavy-$Z$ target, proceeding through the phase rotation and decay, muon cooling, acceleration, storage in a collider ring, and the collider detector.

TL;DR: In this paper, the status of the effort to realize a first neutrino factory and the progress made in understanding the problems associated with the collection and cooling of muons towards that end are described.

TL;DR: The Neutrino Factory as discussed by the authors is a new concept for an accelerator that produces a high-intensity, high-energy beam of electron and muon neutrinos, the ultimate tool for neutrino oscillation studies and the only machine conceived up today that could help detect CP violation of leptons.

S. Antoine,B. Autin,W. Beeckman,Johann Collot,M. Conjat,F. Forest,J. Fourrier,E. Froidefond,J.L. Lancelot,J. Mandrillon,P. Mandrillon,Francois Méot,Francois Méot,Yoshiharu Mori,D. Neuveglise,Chihiro Ohmori,Jaroslaw Pasternak,T. Planche +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a spiral scaling FFAG assembly is presented, capable of producing variable energy proton beams, with potentially high repetition and dose delivery rates, for the RACCAM project.
Design of a 2.2 gev accumulator and compressor for a neutrino factory
B. Autin,R. Cappi,M. Chanel,J. Gareyte,R. Garoby,Massimo Giovannozzi,H. Haseroth,M. Martini,K. Schindl,Christopher Prior,G.H. Rees +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a linac-based 2.2 GeV proton driver with two rings of approximately 1 km circumference has been studied at CERN, taking into account the space charge and stability problems which make beam accumulation and bunch compression difficult at such a low energy.
