Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon Chain Depletion of 2I/Borisov

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a Haser model to convert the integrated fluxes to production rates and found that 2I/Borisov is strongly in the (carbon chain) 'depleted' taxonomic group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Near-Earth asteroid 2012 TC4 observing campaign: Results from a global planetary defense exercise

Vishnu Reddy, +68 more
- 01 Jul 2019 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors conducted a community-led global planetary defense exercise with support from the NASA Planetary Defense Coordination Office to test the preparedness to respond to a potential NEO impact threat, and the target of their exercise was 2012 TC4, the ~10" diameter asteroid that made a close pass by the Earth on 2017 October 12 at a distance of about 50,000 km.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physical Characterization of the December 2017 Outburst of the Centaur 174P/Echeclus

TL;DR: In this paper, visible imaging and near-infrared spectroscopy of Echeclus during the first week after its December 2017 outburst was presented at the Faulkes North & South Telescopes and the NASA IRTF, the largest outburst since 2005.
Journal ArticleDOI

Physical Characterization of Active Asteroid (6478) Gault

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used photometric and spectroscopic data of Gault to determine its physical and compositional properties, and found a compositional affinity between Gault and asteroid (25) Phocaea.
