Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term in vitro culture and characterisation of avian embryonic stem cells with multiple morphogenetic potentialities

TL;DR: It is shown that chicken early blastoderm contains cells characterised as putative avian embryonic stem (ES) cells that can be maintained in vitro for long-term culture and production of chimeras after injection of the cultivated cells reinforced the view that the culture system maintains in vitro some avian putative ES cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Different functions for the thyroid hormone receptors TRα and TRβ in the control of thyroid hormone production and post‐natal development

TL;DR: It is shown by this method that the TRβ receptors are the most potent regulators of the production of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), and that redundancy is only partial and concerns a limited number of functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of miR-34c microRNA in the late steps of spermatogenesis

TL;DR: The findings indicate that in male gonads, miR-34c expression is largely p53 independent in contrast to previous results showing a direct link in somatic cells between the miR -34 family and this tumor suppressor protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Oct4 homologue PouV and Nanog regulate pluripotency in chicken embryonic stem cells.

TL;DR: It is established that cPouV and the chicken Nanog gene are required for the maintenance of pluripotency and self-renewal of cESC, showing that the mechanisms by which Oct4 and Nanog regulate pluripOTency andSelf-Renewal are not exclusive to mammals.
