Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of interleukin-1-induced effects in synoviocytes transduced with the human IL-1 receptor antagonist cDNA using an adenoviral vector.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that recombinant adenoviral vectors can mediate the intra-articular expression of anti-inflammatory proteins and may be a reasonable method to deliver therapeutically relevant proteins for the regional treatment of synovial inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular basis of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase deficiency in ten subjects determined by direct sequencing of amplified transcripts.

TL;DR: The PCR is used to identify previously undetermined mutations in HPRT mRNA from B lymphoblasts derived from 10 deficient individuals, which contain single point mutations, three contain deletions, and one contains a single nucleotide insertion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adeno-associated virus type 4 (AAV4) targets ependyma and astrocytes in the subventricular zone and RMS

TL;DR: This work reports specific transduction of ependyma and/or astrocytes by recombinant adeno-associated virus type 4 (AAV4) viral vectors into the subventricular zone and introduces AAV4 as a new tool by which to manipulate glial cells in the RMS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Systemic and Central Nervous System Correction of Lysosomal Storage in Mucopolysaccharidosis Type VII Mice

TL;DR: Results indicate that prolonged enzyme expression from transgenes delivered to deficient liver and brain can mediate pervasive correction and illustrate the potential for gene therapy of MPS and other lysosomal storage diseases.
