Persistence and clearance of viral RNA in 2019 novel coronavirus disease rehabilitation patients.

TL;DR: The clearance time and factors influencing 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) RNA in different samples from patients with COVID-19 were analyzed, providing further evidence to improve the management of patients during convalescence and showed that the CD4+ T lymphocyte count may help predict the duration of viral RNA detection in patients’ stools.
Journal ArticleDOI

D-dimer as a biomarker for disease severity and mortality in COVID-19 patients: A case control study

TL;DR: D-dimer levels correlate with disease severity and are a reliable prognostic marker for in-hospital mortality in patients admitted for COVID-19.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbiological Diagnostic Performance of Metagenomic Next-generation Sequencing When Applied to Clinical Practice.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the sensitivity and specificity of mNGS and culture for diagnosing infectious disease and found that mNGs yielded a higher sensitivity for pathogen identification and is less affected by prior antibiotic exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI
