Therapeutic Strategies To Counteract Antibiotic Resistance in MRSA Biofilm-Associated Infections.

TL;DR: The aim is to provide guidelines for the development of new anti‐virulence strategies based on the knowledge so far acquired, and to identify the main flaws of this research field, which have hindered the generation of new market‐approved anti‐MRSA drugs that are able to act against biofilm‐associated infections.
Journal ArticleDOI

1,2,4-Oxadiazole topsentin analogs as staphylococcal biofilm inhibitors targeting the bacterial transpeptidase sortase A

TL;DR: A new series of seventeen 1,2,4-oxadiazole derivatives was efficiently synthesized and screened as potential new anti-virulence agents and inhibition of S. aureus and/or P. aeruginosa biofilm formation was validated against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens.
Journal ArticleDOI

GSK3β as a novel promising target to overcome chemoresistance in pancreatic cancer.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the latest findings about GSK-3β biology and its role in the development and progression of pancreatic cancer, and discussed therapeutic agents targeting GSK3β that could be administered as monotherapy or in combination with other drugs to surmount chemoresistance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thiazole Analogues of the Marine Alkaloid Nortopsentin as Inhibitors of Bacterial Biofilm Formation.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of 18 thiazole derivatives was efficiently synthesized and evaluated for their ability to inhibit biofilm formation against the Gram-positive bacterial reference strains Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and S. aureous ATCC 6538 and the Gramnegative strain Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 15442.
