Journal ArticleDOI
Consensus guidelines on the testing and clinical management issues associated with HLA and non-HLA antibodies in transplantation.
Brian D. Tait,Caner Süsal,Howard M. Gebel,Peter Nickerson,Andrea A. Zachary,Frans H.J. Claas,Elaine F. Reed,Robert A. Bray,Patricia Campbell,Jeremy R. Chapman,P. Toby Coates,Robert B. Colvin,Emanuele Cozzi,Ilias I.N. Doxiadis,Susan V. Fuggle,John S. Gill,Denis Glotz,Nils Lachmann,Thalachallour Mohanakumar,Nicole Suciu-Foca,Suchitra Sumitran-Holgersson,Kazunari Tanabe,Craig J. Taylor,Dolly B. Tyan,Angela C Webster,Adriana Zeevi,Gerhard Opelz +26 more
TL;DR: A group of laboratory and clinical experts in the field of transplantation was convened to prepare a consensus report and make recommendations on the use of this new technology based on both published evidence and expert opinion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibodies against MICA Antigens and Kidney-Transplant Rejection
TL;DR: Presensitization of kidney-transplant recipients against MICA antigens is associated with an increased frequency of graft loss and might contribute to allograft loss among recipients who are well matched for HLA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analyses of the short- and long-term graft survival after kidney transplantation in Europe between 1986 and 2015
Maarten Coemans,Caner Süsal,Bernd Döhler,Dany Anglicheau,Magali Giral,Oriol Bestard,Christophe Legendre,Marie-Paule Emonds,Dirk Kuypers,Geert Molenberghs,Geert Verbeke,Maarten Naesens +11 more
TL;DR: It is found that short-term improvement in graft survival decreased since 2000, while long- term improvement remained unchanged in Europe, illustrating an unmet need for innovation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kidney graft failure and presensitization against HLA class I and class II antigens.
Caner Süsal,Gerhard Opelz +1 more
TL;DR: Presensitization of first kidney transplant recipients against either HLAclass I or class II is of no clinical consequence, whereas sensitization against both HLA class I and class II results in increased rejection of HLA mismatched grafts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Highly Responsive Kidney Transplant Recipients Using Pretransplant Soluble CD30
TL;DR: Recipients with a high pretransplant sCD30 needed significantly more rejection treatment after the first posttransplant year and continued to lose grafts at a higher rate during the 5-yr follow-up period, indicating that pretrans implant s CD30 predicts not only the risk of acute rejection but also of chronic allograft nephropathy.
